In one of my videos for 12 days of Wigmas I tried Juvia’s place the Douce eyeshadow palette ($20) and Kat Von D’s metal crush extreme highlighting palette ($36). I really enjoyed both product! I got both of them on sale, so the prices are the original prices.
The Douce eyeshadow palette has nine shades and three formulas shimmer, matte, and an iridescent shade. I enjoyed this palette it would look gorgeous for spring and light, sweet looks. I did a pink look with a pop of color in the inner corner with the shade “Macarons” which is described as a shimmer mint with gold reflect. The look came out really cute with the pastel purple wig. The quality is good, shades are pigmented although the colors are lighter/less pigmented than some of their other palettes because of the shade types (more pastel and light shimmers). The pan sizes are large and it has a five star rating (24 reviews) on the Ulta website.
The Kat Von D metal crush extreme highlighting palette is limited edition and I feel like it has been on sale since it was released which made me a little hesitant buying it. I read somewhere that the metal crush extreme highlighters were beautiful as inner corner highlighters and were really nice. They are glittery, but I think if that is your things and you are informed before buying, it is not disappointing. I ended up using the pink shade in Roseshock. It is blinding and looks so nice on my skin tone. The single highlighters were on sale too, so I bought a few of the other shades that were not in the palette. I am excited to try these ones out, as well. I think that her brand has not been very successful lately due to some controversy that she created, but I try and stay out of it (makeup should not be political). I really enjoyed the palette, regardless of the controversy.
Here is the look I created. The pop of colour was difficult to show on camera, but was there in real life!
