Hey Loves!
Yassss! I am excited because it is not too far in to the month where I can’t post a favorites post. I have some new loves this months.
I have a new highlighting holy grail brush! Sephora’s PRO featherweight blending brush ($30). Prior to this my favorite highlighting brush was Real Techniques bold metals tapered blush brush (#300), this brush allowed for some precise application and some in your face highlight. However, some products would go on so harshly/cakey and somedays my highlight was too much. The Sephora brush applies my highlighter on so beautifully! I was weary about these types of brushes because I felt like it wouldn’t be a precise application, but it applies it accurately and allows me to build my highlight or wear it more naturally.
I have also found my new holy grail primer as well. It is the No Pore Blem Primer by Touch in Sol ($18). I have been using Porefessional by Benefit, but I think that this product actually covers and fills my pores much better. It is also less expensive! Porefessional by Benefit is $31 for less product (.75fl oz/21g). The texture is nice and it is a Korean product. It is funny that I actually found it in Sephora here in the States.
I am really big on highlighters. And when I say big on them I mean that I have a problem, a real addiction. I have three products that I have been loving this month. I have never tried the Laura Geller baked gelato swirl illuminators ($26), but I have seen them around for quite a while. I think that I was talked into them by Laura Lee on Youtube and from swatching them in stores. I ended up getting diamond dust and Peach glow. I am in love with light peach highlighters on my skin. This one is so subtle and natural-perfect for work. Diamond dust is such a cool highlight. Its an icy pink highlight. Perfect for a fun night time glow or a cool inner eye highlight. The third highlighting product is the Huda Summer Highlighter palette ($45). It is so gorgeous and although the palette is a little pricey you get a lot of product in it. I was a little worried about the colors and how they would look on me. I haven’t dabbled much with Saint-Tropez (the cream), but the other three are very creamy powders! I have yet to wear Malibu. Copacabana and Mykonos were the two colors that I was worried about looking good on me these two colors together are so beautiful. They go amazing with a warm eye looks and have been my go to for going out.
I picked up a really cool product at Tj Maxx a few weeks ago and the packaging does not have the brand name on it unless it is Clean Sweep ($5). It is a makeup brush pad that comes in a tin can and cleans your brushes so that you can use it to apply different shades without transferring colors in places that you don’t want that color. This is a really cool product.
Ok, my last product is Lorac’s Unzipped Desert Sunset Palette ($42). This palette is gorgeous and comes with a mini primer! It has similar colors to Huda’s new desert palette (which I cannot wait to get my hands on). There is a mix of 3 matte and 7 shimmer shades. I am loving sandstorm as a transition, mirage and cirrus as in corner high lights and sunrise, sunset, and illusion on the lids. I have yet to play with the purple in this palette. They blend really well and the colors really make green eyes pop. I also have the ocean and mountain palettes as well and they are really great. I have an upcoming post on these three palettes.
Thank you for stopping by!
Love,
Jen
